Happy Year- iversery

Yesterday marked the day. One year with baby Jonas! It has been a year, hard to believe that its ONLY been a year, I feel like he's already 18 years-- not 18 months!
I have learned many things with my time with jonas, some great things... and some not so good things. One thing that I have learned in the past 14 months is that I know NOTHING about kids. I have always had a career with kids... heck, its all i know.but being a second hand mommy is Waaaaay different than being a babysitter. When i would look in the future and see myself being a mom, i had a different picture of what that would look like. I hate to admit this; but i would also look at other mothers and the way they raised their children and utter the words that i will always regret... " I will never do that..."
I thought i would have it together as a mom... well, was i ever wrong. the last thing i have is together. a regular day happens and these thoughts will always race through my mind:
When do tanturms end
How did you get over there so fast
will you please sit down and play with my keys and wallet
are you sitting still and entertained with a spoon and box? ... thank god.
is nap time over already?
Omg did you just eat that?
Please don't scream in public. Here- take my credit card.
how does it take us an hour to get out the door?
Didn't I just make you food?
Spent an hour prep and making you healthy food and you won't even touch it...
Is bread and cheese a balanced meal?

So to all you mommies out their; I am hourly impressed with your skills.

Bucket list

I never took the time to sit down and write out a " bucket list" . Today, I did just that!
Bucket list are fun, it's a way to see on paper all your dreams! Some may be out of the ordinary, but it's yours!

Here it is, my official bucket list, in no particular order. Some things are already checked off, but I've added them anyways because they've always been a part of the ongoing list in my head. And I think I should get extra points for the camel , since I fell off and survived!

Where are your cowboy boots?

Last you read my blog I was less than thrilled with the weather and more so my heater. However, Since then my heater has been fixed and my love for the cold has been revived!
It is hard to believe that I have been here for 4 months. 4 short months, because they have flown by. Experts say; it takes the average person 6 months to get settled and acquainted with your new location. 6 short months. So, you're telling me that it takes someone 6 months to learn the roads, meet new people, establish friendships, find a church home, acclimate yourself and your body with the weather and find your new hang outs. To that person who established this ' rule'  ... I laugh in your face. 6 months is such a short time, especially for the introverted me. It takes me 4 months to establish a relationship, navigate my way around Michigan and find a church. The process is ongoing acclimating to the weather and not to mention the new doctors, car re pairs and grocery stores to find.
Then you can factor in my exhaustion level. An introverted person like myself, gets their energy from being alone and having that alone time to re energize; The last thing I want to do after working 11 hours is to get out and go meet people, make small talk and answer the same questions over and over... ie; " why did you move her? you like the cold? (insert eye roll), do you have cowboy boots? does everyone wear cowboy hats in Texas? ( insert my eye roll). But I do it, because I don't want to be alone with no friends for the remainder of my life!
I do enjoy meeting people and hearing how different and not so different they are from me. I absolutely love talking to the born and raised Michiganders and comparing stories... such different lifestyles!
That's all of my ramble. Enjoy Super Bowl Sunday... Go Niners!
